About Atelier Eglantier

Atelier Eglantier is the studio of ceramist Hester Tjebbes.
Hesters background is multicultural European. This has marked her
professional carreer as a ceramist: Her first ceramics teachers were
Phillip Geartheart (USA) and Takao Sakuma (Japan).

She worked as a professional artist and as a ceramics visiting teacher in many countries (USA, China, Holland, France, Indonesia, among others). The many different cultures she became enchanted with, are often reflected in her designs.

After being based in Burgundy, France for many years, Hester moved her Atelier Eglantier to Bali in 2004.

Assisted by a group of 6 professional Balinese potters, she creates her stoneware and porcelain designs. Each piece is unique and handmade The high temperature firing of the stoneware and porcelain clays, adds to the artistic quality.

All Atelier Eglantier products are dated and signed by the artist.
No moulds are used. Hesters work is represented in some of the world’s most prestigious ceramics collections.
